Syrian Islamists Receiving American Weapons

Amid escalating tension between America and Russia over foreign role in Syria, the Inside Syria Media Centre has conducted an investigation to expose the real character of some American companies. The Syrian media office, temporarily based in Istanbul and communicates with those inside Syria through various revolutionary groups and activists on the ground, has found that the American companies are supplying weapons to al-Qaeda and other terror outfits in the war-ravaged West Asian country through third parties.
In its latest report, Inside Syria Media Centre mentioned that Chemring and its affiliate Chemring Ordinance signed a contract with the US government in 2016 and received USD 47 million in accordance with the Non-Standard Equipment and Weapons Procurement Programme. Orbital ATK, another American company, received USD 50 million on the basis of the agreement.
Earlier, Bulgarian daily ‘Trud’ had initiated a journalistic investigation into the case and urged the two American companies to clarify how they spent the received money. Chemring informed the daily that it purchased some ammunition for the American and other Armies from Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi (VMZ-Sopot). The company also informed Trud that the ammunition included 122mm rockets for the Grad MLRS, 73mm anti-tank shells and 40mm ammo for rocket launchers. Interestingly, Orbital ATK rejected the Bulgarian newspaper’s request and refused to reveal the purpose of its expenditure. As ammo of these types is not in service in the American Army, the company further refused to disclose the name of its partner that had asked ATK to maintain confidentiality.
Meanwhile, Inside Syria Media Centre has come to know that arms were supplied to the Syrian Islamists through the ‘Liberty Passion’ ship via Aqaba port in Jordan. In fact, al-Qaeda received American weapons at the largest Saudi port of Jeddah. A senior Inside Syria official said that America purchased the munitions from VMZ-Sopot and delivered them to the Bulgarian port of Burgas. The munitions will soon be loaded on the ‘Marianne Danica’ contracting carrier. The carrier, which has already traded in Burgas-Jeddah route twice, makes no calls at any ports during its eight-hour-long voyage from Burgas to Jeddah.
Marianne Danica officially declares that it transports extremely dangerous cargo. According to automated Identification System (AIS) type, the cargo is Hazard A (major), which is the class for explosives and weapons. However, this cargo is evidently not intended for Saudi Arabia, as its Army is equipped with the armament provided by Western nations only. Neither the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Bulgaria nor the owner of the ship H. Folmer & Co have officially provided the information on the transported cargo along the Burgas-Jeddah route and the Bulgarian weapons’ recipient country.
Moreover, Amnesty International confirmed that H. Folmer & Co and the carrier had been involved into a scandal while carrying tear-gas and riot control weapons, including arms, to Egypt in 2011. Then US State Department spokesperson admitted that H. Folmer & Co had allegedly been granted a licence to transport armaments.
Deputy Commander of Free Syrian Army (FSA) Colonel Malik al-Kurdi, too, claimed that Syrian terrorists recently received foreign weapons, saying: “An HQ has been set up in Turkey and Jordan to ensure co-operation between the special services of 15 states. We warned the US and the EU that the weapons delivered in this HQ gets directly in the hands of the terror organisations.”
al-Kurdi has requested common American people, who lost their relatives in the 9/11 attack conducted by al-Qaeda, to think about it. Instead of eliminating al-Qaeda, Washington keeps supplying arms to the terror outfit with the money of American tax payers.

  1. Thanks for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to
do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but
I think I learned more clear from this post. I am very glad to see
such great info being shared freely out there.
